For you – to be read in a Caribbean/ Ghetto-fabulous accent:
Unique Muslimah
A soulful diva
She high on dignity
No need for your pity
Sweeter than the finest rose
Loved from her head to her toes
A smile to die for
Got pain? She the cure
Makes you think deep
Waking minds from their sleep
Snapping away at Allah’s creation
Stirring up a blogland sensation
She be the latest craze
But you know this ain’t no phase
We stick by her till Kingdom come
Cos she a fine sister, and then some
So Praise be to Allah for letting us meet her

We cross paths, in ways we never expect. We know each other behind screen names, and may never really meet. Yet… There is somehow an invisible connection between us. Muslims on the web, bloggers, and the like. We have connected on a level that has never been done before in history.

I am a “regular reader” whenever I get access to internet as I am on the move, most of these days.
Soon, within a fortnight, I shall be settling in Bombay and there I shall be having a proper internet connection and I shall be regular-er.
Cheers and Keep the absolutely amazing work up!!!
Thanks and Regards.

assalomu alaykum sister…
i dont know im regular reader or no…..but i love ur blog and ur posts……and i loved your these words.
Unique Muslimah Says:
Both I wish the silent readers would let me know they are there, it would really comfort me. I’m not the sort of person that looks for maximum comments on a post, that doesn’t matter to me. What matters is just connecting with people and both of us making a difference in each others lives ……they made me feel that im one who is silent reader( cus i dont englsih enough to write comment every time and make it clear top understand , so about that sister)….keep going write thoughs and letting us to know that we are not alone with that thoughs…may ALlah bless you…

Hey sis, I came across your blog sometime in March or April, and have been hooked ever since. I started with one of your top posts “The New Hijab” and girl I just scrolled through your categories and fell in love with your stories, letters, and glimpses into your personal endeavors. I could relate to your writing. I had stopped writing for a little over a year and from readers comments, and finding your blog I truly realized that I missed writing so much. I had to continue you have given me that motivation to continue writing. Congrats on finishing your novel sis. I found a great deal of pleasure in writing, its my hobby and my way of letting off steam. It’s very therapeautic as you must know by now. So just letting you know I’m here and sharing a bit about myself to better know who I am LOL….
So keep writing chika, you inspire many lives and speak on thousands of levels to all the readers. LOL sometimes I think would b nice to have like a book club and have all the girls sit and chat about a great book we read relating to women in Islam biographies, fictional novels, non-fictions etc. LOL sort of like Oprah’s book club hehehhe… just day dreaming hehehhe… can you picture it nice comfy chairs and a coffee table with snacks and drinks and indulging in great conversations about great Muslimah writers. hehehe…
Ok well starting to ramble. May Allah reward you for your writing. Amin. Hugs

Salam, I think now i can call Shahrzad as a regular reader.

I wanted to write something here before but i thought i must be patient and read your words more. Then i can be Regular reader..
Unique, you are very good writer. The subjects you choose are some problems, most people pass them by easily. You make questions in mind and it is very good.
I am not really a good english writer, yet my english is not enough perfect. I write in persian, and persian(farsi) is my mom tongue, yet i can get your power, skills and ability in writing. You have talent, very deep look, beautiful open mind and such a pro journalist you dont ignore details..
Stay in the path you are. Muslim women really need voices like you..

Salaam alaykum dear sis Unique
I have been reading some of your older posts, as I only discovered your lovely blog about 3 months or so ago.
It is a great pleasure reading your blogs! I truly enjoy reading them!
I’m happy that I subscribed to you, so that I can read any new posts.
I like how you express yourself, masha’Allah.
Keep up this brill blog! You have helped me a lot btw, just from reading your blogs, because I can relate to a lot of what you say, and sometimes I have felt like I’m the only one, as I’m away from the place I grew up in, and now living in the ME, which is tough at times. People, especially the girls around my age are different, and into stuff that I don’t really care about.
Anyway, enough of me rambling on, I really enjoy and appreciate your blogs sis.
Jazak Allah khair, you and some of the other wonderful bloggers have helped me a lot, but you especially sis
Hope you had a delightful Eid.
Take care & all the best.

I’m a new reader. I saw a link to ‘Types of Muslim Men’ and being a Muslim man I just couldn’t resist. I clicked. Then I navigated my way away from your page. I guess a couple days later I was curious so I found by way back and read some more… and more… and more… now I’m addicted. It’s like potato chips, once you have one you can’t stop. Amazing job.

I have been reading your site for awhile now, even though I am a Christian and I live in America. I love learning about different cultures and religions and I felt like there was a negative stereotype about Islam in America. Because our cultures are so different, a lot of people where I live are very judgmental when it comes to people from Middle-Eastern countries. I hear a lot about how the women are oppressed, hate their lives, are forced to cover their bodies, etc. But after reading your site for awhile, I have come to realize that just because our cultures are different doesn’t mean one is better than the other. Something I was never told is that muslimahs are free and happy with the way they live. I have never met anyone so dedicated to their beliefs as you and with such a great respect for the traditions and reasons behind them. Your dedication to your religion and outstanding morals are rarely found where I live, and I have learned so much about Islam and what it’s like to be a muslimah from your site. Respect and understanding for other cultures is the first step towards world peace, and you’ve really opened my eyes.

Hi
Not being a muslim woman, I’ve being enjoying reading your blog all day long. Really. I found here absolutely occasinslly, but nevertheless I stayed for rather a long time.
Thanks for the pleasure I’ve got from the brilliance, beauty and imagery of your stories. Since I’ve been an active blogger for a few years myself, you might understand that I highly appreciate openness and truthfulness of narration. It attracts me the most. You seems to be very sincere in expressing your thoughts, and it bribes of cause. Thank you. I’ve enjoyed not less than if I read a good modern book. Even in such a short time you make an impression of a very nice, kind, sincere, and modern girl. Though I live on the other side of the planet, in Eastern Europe, I was married, have a son, almost everything, that you write, is absolutely clear for me, even if I do not fully agree with your point of view on things. And in the end, we all are the same, more or less.
I wish you happiness in your life and inspiration for job if you work, studiyng and blogging as well.
