My Hijab Anniversary

It it my Hijab anniversary today. Many years ago I found freedom in wearing it and every day I’m happy I made that choice.
If asked what was one of the best decisions I’ve made so far in life, deciding to wear the Hijab would rank at the top of the list.
Every anniversary I take time out and reflect on the days leading up to my decision to gain freedom and independence. They were the most spiritual days of my life.
And every anniversary I ask God to keep me firm on this path I have chosen.
Alhamdulilah.
Congrats so much for your Hijab Anniv and CHEERS.
The best part is that you chose it by own and it’s not the society or the government that force you to do so. I am sure it was one of the best decisions you’ve made.
May God keep you firmly in your path of enlightenment. Inshallah..

It’s so cool that you remember the day you started wearing it. I don’t. Which is suckish.
Insha’Allah you carry on wearing it forever.

that is such a sweet way to remember the time wen u decided to wear the hijab. It is one of the most important decisions that a girl can make and its not just about wearing an extra piece of cloth, it changes the overall personality.

This is a beautiful post, mashaAllah, and I congratulate you for the depth of purpose and the fulfillment you’ve found in wearing hijab.
I tried to do the same once, but met with distasteful results. Perhaps freedom of choice is the key to success in this endeavor. Perhaps the degree to which hijab is associated with spirituality is also important.
In any event, outer symbols do remind one of inner realities, whether the symbol is hijab or blue jeans, long skirts or mini-skirts, etc.
I think problems arise when different people assign various meanings to those outer symbols, and do not realize that symbolic meanings are not carved in stone, nor are they always discernible by onlookers.

Ooh… congrats, indeed!
I started wearing hijab exactly 25 days ago. It’s such a short time, and I had to leave my job and stuff for it, yet I’m honestly thanking Allah everyday for letting me have the chance to start wearing it. Like everyone else of us, I have no idea about how long will I be on this world, and so I might’ve missed it – I feel so blessed that I didn’t. Al hamdu li Allah (:
May Allah bless you for this sweet post, Unique!

))) I’m so proud of you. I remember the wonderful feeling I had when I started wearing it….may Allah keep you strong on this faith and your decision. It’s not an easy one and I admire you for making that independent decision to submit to God completely

Assalamu Alaikum,
Just wanted to say I really like your writing style. You really do make me ‘feel’ with your posts, be it any subject.
And like Shahrzad said, it’s great to know YOU made the choice of wearing hijab. I know some girls who wear it just because ‘everyone’ does it. May Allah guide us always. Take care sister.
