10 Ways to Beat Writers’ Block on Your Blog!
Don’t let writers’ block freeze your blog! Break the ice with Unique Muslimah’s 10 ideas, tested and proven to sweep up those cobwebs on your blog!
1: IDEAS PAD:
Write down one-word topics you want to write on your blog on a microsoft word document or even on your own dedicated ideas notepad! Keep it close by for those all important light-bulb ideas you get! For example, Unique writes in her notepad, music, fashion, faith. Don’t be afraid to write about topics you haven’t covered before!
2. POST-IT:
Keep a note of the post topics you actually want to write, using post-it notes stuck in front of your desk so you are reminded of the post awaiting you! For example, Unique writes on her post-it “Next post: 10 ways to avoid writers block on your blog!”
3. KEEP READING:
Keep reading other blogs, websites and books; they are bound to inspire you to write something!
4. FEEDBACK:
Have an e-mail section on your blog for readers of your blog to contact you with posts they think you should write about!
5. A PICTURE IS WORTH…:
If you don’t have anything special to say with words, say it with photographs!
6. UPDATE YOURSELF:
Keep informed with the news and issues that are important to you, chances are that you will have something to say about the news of the day.
7. TYPE IT WORKOUT:
Comment on your favourite blogs! Commenting is part of the blogging experience and will keep your fingers busy and hopefully inspire you to write something on your blog! Also don’t forget to comment to people who leave replies to your blog, that way you are still participating on your own blog, even if you haven’t updated your posts in a while!
8. ROUTINE:
Set a day(s) and time dedicated to writing on your blog. Chances are that setting this routine will inspire you to write something and get you into the habit of updating your blog frequently for your readers!
9. GET COMFY:
Write in your favourite place and get comfortable! If you noticed that you are inspired to write more when you’re in the kitchen compared to the bedroom, then try writing in the kitchen when you’re suffering from writers block! Get comfortable, put on some calming tunes and write away!
10. AND FINALLY…JUST DO IT:
Just start writing! Normally the best way to beat writers block is to just start rambling, and remember you always have the choice to edit your work before you hit the publish button!
Happy blogging!
LOL, Unique, You’re getting more pinkish every day.
What about a woman like Shahrzad who has lots of subjects floating in her mind and needs to write every one of them, but she doesnt write. Is there any treatment for her, Dr Unique?

Excellent Post !
Most bloggers that blog on specific topics get carried away with their idea, that their niche blog must carry articles about their niche.
That for the big bloggers to worry about: guys out there making real money through blogging.
For the little guys, it’s always a good idea to deviate from their niche and post about the weather sometime.

I always go by ‘Ideas Pad’. One thing I have hard time getting down to, though, is routine
Thanks for the great and, of course, Unique ideas!

Hi Unique. Some good, sound advice for the blogger who wants to write well. My problem: How to organize the many ideas I capture in my notes! I’m currently using Notepad to capture ideas, name the file with a short but clear label and the date, and file away in my Notes folder. When I’m looking for ideas I know where to go…although I’m still not sure how to find the time to write.
BTW, I enjoyed the tale of Beardless Adam. He chose not to make himself a barrier to the faith of others.

I also find it helpful to start a post, similarly to how you describe a post-it note and save rather than post it. That way it’s already online on my blog and I can peck away at it whenever I need to. Thanks for the hints.
