Our Countries Offer Life
We’re constantly glued in front of the television, watching news broadcast after news broadcast, soaking up information and believing that this is the truth. And even if we don’t really believe it, we are offered no other alternative, so the images we watch are forever stained into our subconscious. But I want to give you another alternative. Whenever there’s news on Egypt, it’s typical for the station to broadcast a small, street alley, that’s filled with poor people and beggars; it’s busy, dusty, dirty. Anyone who hasn’t been to Egypt will believe that the whole of Egypt is like that; dirty, destruction, dust. But it’s not. Egypt offers life.
How Free Are We?
As the moon rises in the deep velvety night sky, sailing from one point to another, lights turn on across Cairo, each light belonging to a home, each home having their own story to tell to the world. From above, Cairo looks like a jewel, glistening, twinkling, the city of lights, the city that welcomes you back to its arms, no matter how long you have been abroad. Read the rest of this entry »
