Modern-Day Cinderella

Yasmeen’s father married a woman ten years older than him, who was already divorced with children. His mother, Yasmeen’s grandmother, immediately disowned him as some Egyptian mothers may do and years went by without a word from her son who was banished from their lives. He bore a child, Yasmeen, from his wife, a pretty young girl who loved her father very much. But Yasmeen didn’t know much about her grandmother, who is a tough and stern woman, known as a trouble-maker to many people in the extended family. Yasmeen didn’t know about her grandmother until her mother divorced her father, leaving him and marrying another man. Now Yasmeen lives in between two worlds.
